Guide

A roofing lead follow-up system you do not have to run

A homeowner with a leak calls at 9pm. Voicemail. They call the next roofer.

That job never calls you twice.

Blur Agentic builds and runs the roofing lead follow-up system for owner-run roofing companies: answering, follow-up and a booking page in your brand. The goal is more booked jobs from the calls and leads you already get. You run the jobs. We stop the phone and the web from leaking them.

Where roofing leads slip

The leaks show up in three places.

The after-hours call

Storm and leak calls do not wait. When water is coming in, homeowners keep dialing until someone answers. If your phone goes to voicemail at night, the job goes to whoever picks up.

The weekend form

Someone fills out your website form on Sunday. Nobody replies until Tuesday. By then they may have booked an inspection with someone else.

The quiet estimate

You give an estimate. They go quiet. Nobody checks back.

None of these is a traffic problem. They are follow-up problems, and they are fixable.

What a roofing lead follow-up system should do

It should cover the whole path from "I need a price" to a booked inspection, plus the follow-up after the estimate. Here is what ours covers:

  • After-hours call answering. Connected to your business, so night and weekend calls get answered.
  • New-lead follow-up. Web leads get a fast reply and a path to a booked time.
  • A booking page in your brand. Built around your best first step: a free inspection, a photo quote or a booked visit.
  • Booking confirmation. The homeowner knows they are on the schedule.
  • Estimate follow-up. Quotes that go quiet get a second look.
  • Owner alerts. You, or whoever runs the schedule, know what came in.

For new-lead and estimate follow-up, we use text and email where your tools support them. We log in and run it inside the tools you already use.

Missed-call text back, built into the system

You are on a roof. The phone rings in the truck. By the time you call back, the homeowner has called the next roofer.

Missed-call text back is part of the Booked-Jobs System, not a separate product. It is available once your texting registration is approved (more on that below).

Here is how it works. A call goes unanswered: nobody picks up, the line is busy, or the call takes your after-hours path. Within seconds, the caller gets a text from your own business number. The text is informational only. It opens with your business name and ends with "Reply STOP to opt out." Each caller gets one text per 24 hours, and a STOP reply is honored immediately. We do not send marketing texts.

Sample: "This is [Company] Roofing. We got your call and are sorry we missed it. Is this about a leak or storm damage? Reply with a few details and we will get back to you. Reply STOP to opt out."

The text is a start. It works because it ties into the rest of the path:

Step What happens
1. Call goes unanswered Nobody picks up, the line is busy, or the call takes your after-hours path.
2. Text goes out Within seconds, from your own business number, opening with your business name.
3. After-hours answering With after-hours call answering connected, night and weekend calls get answered.
4. Owner alert You, or whoever runs the schedule, know what came in and what needs a person.
5. Estimate follow-up Quotes that go quiet get a second look. Price changes wait for your yes.

Business texting from a standard 10-digit number goes through carrier registration, called A2P 10DLC. We handle that registration in your business name. It takes about 1 to 3 weeks. Available in most US states.

Only need after-hours calls answered, without the full follow-up system? Blur AI Solutions, the company behind Blur Agentic, offers an after-hours answering service for trades.

Software you run, or a system we run

A CRM is a tool. Someone in your office has to set it up, write the messages, check that it is still sending and notice when it breaks. In a storm week, that someone is often you.

We do that part. We build the follow-up, connect the after-hours answering and tune it for 30 days after go-live. Then you pick: your office runs it, or we keep running it on the Managed Growth System.

Watch, catch, fix, report

On the managed plan, this is the weekly routine:

  1. Watch. We check that calls, forms and follow-ups are running, and look at what the agents sent.
  2. Catch. When something fails, like a text that does not send, it is flagged to us. It is not left for a homeowner to find.
  3. Fix. We fix it, tell you what happened in plain words and note it in your weekly summary.
  4. Report. Every week you get what came in, what got booked and what needs you. Every month you get a written report and a call with John.

The managed plan also adds past-customer reactivation and review requests on finished jobs.

The after-hours leak test: your own leads, dated and timed

You should see where your own leads slip before you pay to fix anything. The Growth Assessment tests your business the way a homeowner would: calls, texts and form fills, after hours and on a weekend. Each test is dated and timed.

Sample: what the test log covers

Test How we run it When What we record
After-hours call We call your business line outside your hours Dated and timed on your report Who or what answered, and whether a booking was offered
Weekend web form We fill out your website form on a weekend Dated and timed on your report When the first reply came, and what it said
Text to your business line We text your number Dated and timed on your report Whether and when anyone replied
Estimate follow-up check We review what happens after a quote goes out Noted on your report Whether anyone checks back
Booking path We try to book a first step from your site Noted on your report Where the path stalls
Google Business Profile check We review your profile Noted on your report Gaps that cost calls

This is a sample of the format. Real examples are shared on your walkthrough.

What you get:

  • A written report in 5 business days.
  • 2 to 4 pages, with fixes ranked by how fast they book jobs.
  • A 60-minute walkthrough led by John.

You keep the report either way.

What it never does without a person saying yes

You stay in charge. None of these happen without a person approving them:

  • Sending a message to a customer list for the first time.
  • Changing a price, quote or estimate.
  • Offering a discount, refund or credit.
  • Deleting or overwriting customer records.
  • Changing your calendar rules, hours or service area.

Routine answering and follow-up show up in your summary.

Three steps, priced up front

You can stop after any step. Here is how the three steps fit together.

Step What you get Price
1. Growth Assessment Dated, timed tests of your calls, texts and forms, a written report and a walkthrough with John $1,500, credited toward a build if you start within 30 days: the full $1,500 on a build of $6,000 or more or the Managed Growth System, $1,250 on a $5,000 build
2. Booked-Jobs System Booking page, booking confirmation, new-lead and estimate follow-up, after-hours answering connected, owner alerts, 30 days of tuning $5,000 to $10,000, set in a written proposal
3. Managed Growth System (optional) Everything in the build, plus reactivation, review requests, weekly summary, monthly report and monthly call with John $7,500 setup plus $2,000 a month, 3-month minimum, then month to month

Where a build lands in its range depends on how many channels, calendars and follow-up paths it covers. The exact price is in your written proposal before you commit.

Payments are non-refundable. Here is what we do instead:

  • Your assessment fee is credited toward your build if you start within 30 days: the full $1,500 on a build of $6,000 or more or the Managed Growth System, $1,250 on a $5,000 build.
  • We set a go-live date at kickoff.
  • On the managed plan, we set a target with you from your own numbers.

Your booking page, copy and lead data are yours.

Who builds it

The person on your walkthrough is the person who builds it. John runs every assessment, every walkthrough and every build himself. No handoff to a junior team.

"If a build will not pay for itself, I will tell you on the call."

We are based in Kansas City and work with roofers across the United States. Read more about John. We also work with other trades we serve, like storm and water restoration, and foundation and waterproofing.

Questions roofers ask

What is a roofing lead follow-up system? It is the path from the first call or form to a booked inspection, plus the checks that happen when a quote goes quiet. Ours covers after-hours call answering, fast replies to new web leads, follow-up after the estimate and a booking page in your brand. We build it for you and tune it for 30 days after go-live.

How is this different from a roofing CRM? A CRM is software you set up and run yourself. We build the follow-up for you, connect after-hours answering and tune it for 30 days. We log in and run it inside the tools you already use. On the managed plan we also watch it every week, fix what fails and send you a short summary.

What does it cost? Every engagement starts with the Growth Assessment at $1,500, credited toward a build if you start within 30 days: the full $1,500 on a build of $6,000 or more or the Managed Growth System, $1,250 on a $5,000 build. The Booked-Jobs System is $5,000 to $10,000, set in a written proposal. The Managed Growth System is $7,500 setup plus $2,000 a month, with a 3-month minimum. Payments are non-refundable.

Will an AI answer my roofing calls? Calls may be answered by an AI assistant, which will say so if asked. Calls may be recorded and transcribed. It answers when nobody can pick up and alerts you or whoever runs the schedule. It never changes a price, quote or estimate, or offers a discount, without a person saying yes.

Do you have roofing case studies? Not yet. We only publish numbers our clients approve. What we can show you is your own business: the Growth Assessment tests your calls, texts and forms after hours and on a weekend, each one dated and timed, so you see the gaps yourself before you spend anything on a build.

Can my office manager run it after the build? Yes. That is what the Booked-Jobs System is for. After go-live we tune it for 30 days, then hold a review call. You decide: run it yourself or move to managed. Your booking page, copy and lead data are yours either way, and transfer terms for anything else are in your proposal.
